Caricature drawing for Whale and Dolphin Conservation
RECENTLY I WAS pleased to be able to support Whale and Dolphin Conservation at the House of Commons along with The Professional Cartoonists’ Organisation. The event in a hospitality suite in the Commons was well attended and supported by dignitaries such as MP Virendra Sharma with a live reading by poet Matt Harvey. Thanks to cartoonist Glenn Marshall for the invite!
No-one remembered the horrific London Dolphinarium in New Oxford Street that I used to notice in the early Seventies when passing by on a bus. Perhaps it was rightfully unpopular even then, as it only lasted two years.
Drawing caricatures on the spot is quite a good PR tool with each sheet pre-printed with the event logo and message, so each recipient has a permanent reminder of the cause.
