AS SOME OF you may have heard, I am busy organising the FIRST EVER London International Cartoon Festival (LICfest) for 2010.
This will be a riotous event involving cartoonists from around the world presenting and demonstrating their art to the public. There will be talks, workshops, competitions, live comedy and musical performances, street theatre and many celeb appearances.
The amazing thing is that this is the FIRST time this has ever been organised in a major capital city. Penelope Else, my project manager, and I are really excited about the prospect of introducing a new unmissable annual event to the London calendar.
In fact, we have already won the patronage of the largest tourist agency in the UK, Visit London, who have this to say about LICfest:

We've been having monthly meetings to build awareness and grow support. Everyone is welcome to these meetings which are held on the first Tuesday of every month. The next one is on Tuesday May 5th. Why don't you come along. You don't have to be a cartoonist and there are many networking opportunities with people of all backgrounds. Bring a friend if you're a bit shy – but we're a notoriously friendly bunch!
